Travel and Things to Do in North Uist
Travel
We are conveniently located at the southern end of North Uist directly on the Hebridean Way.
If you are travelling by car, we recommend taking the most direct route to us via the Uig, Isle of Skye crossing to Lochmaddy. Lochmaddy is approx 15 minutes drive to Temple View. Ferry sailings are also available from Mallaig to Lochboisdale, South Uist, approx 1 hour's drive from Temple View, but please be aware this crossing is more subject to disruption in adverse weather conditions.
Flights are available daily from Glasgow to Benbecula, a mere 15 minutes drive from us. Car hire is available at Benbecula airport, which we highly recommend for getting out and about. We are on the main bus route but public transport on the islands is limited. Loganair also operate flights from Benbecula to Stornoway and Inverness.
