The Beginning of Something New
Welcome to our little corner of the world here in North Uist, in the heart of the beautiful Outer Hebrides.
We’re Katie and Alex, and in April 2025 we took over this much-loved hotel with a simple dream: to create a warm, relaxed place where travelers feel genuinely looked after. In our early 30s, with a shared passion for travel, Scotland, and true hospitality, we’re proud to be continuing the story of this special hotel and adding our own chapter.
A small, family-run hotel, which means you won’t find conveyor-belt check-ins or corporate formality. Instead, you’ll find friendly faces, thoughtful touches, and hosts who genuinely care about your stay. Whether you’re here for windswept beaches, wildlife, island adventures or simply a quiet escape, we’re always happy to share our favorite spots and personal recommendations to help you experience the very best of the islands.
You’ll likely also meet Heidi, our four-legged welcoming committee, and in April 2026 we’re excited to be adding a brand-new (slightly smaller and only two legs!) team member to the family.

Our Team
Katie and Alex run the hotel together with the support of a small, dedicated core team, and being fully hands-on in every aspect of daily life here, from welcoming guests to serving our home-style cooking is something we’re incredibly proud of.
As a family-run business in North Uist, at the heart of the Outer Hebrides, supporting local people and our wider community in the Western Isles is deeply important to us. Every member of our team is local, and their knowledge, warmth and island spirit shape the experience our guests have from the moment they arrive.
Since taking over the hotel in 2025, our team has stood beside us loyal, hardworking and genuinely invested in delivering the highest level of comfort and care. We are passionate about creating local employment, championing island talent, and contributing positively to the community we’re so proud to call home.
We value our staff enormously. Their dedication, kindness, and commitment are the backbone of this business, and we simply couldn’t do it without them. To us, they’re not just colleagues, they’re part of the family.
